AI’S THE SCARIEST STORY
OF 2026.
BUT IT’S ALSO
THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD…

Right now, you’re hearing about how AI might harm you.

Rogue agents.

Job loss.

Back in May, three new AI models hit the market. By September, the monthly tally was 42.

Scarily powerful new models.

Even the people building them admit it’s moving faster than they can keep up.

But you’re not hearing about the other side of that curve.

What this step-change can actually do for you. In an Australian investing landscape that’s never been harder for mere humans to read.

Surging AI capability is now putting tools once reserved for hedge funds into the hands of ordinary Aussie investors.

Fat Tail Investment Research has built one of those tools.

It’s called ATLAS.

An AI engine with one job:

Reading the ASX in a way human minds can’t.

Picture having an always-on ‘mission control’ for your portfolio.

Machine-tooled specifically for the ASX.

Showing you, with one click, what its algorithms have found after crunching price data across hundreds of ASX stocks:

Which sectors money is flooding into. Which it’s pulling out of.

And which stocks are on the move — while most investors are still reading yesterday’s headlines about oil, rates and Iran.

Imagine watching a sell-off unfold and, instead of panicking, having an AI scan the entire market at machine speed and show you exactly which corners are still holding up…or where new opportunities are emerging.

No more guessing or drowning in noise. No more feeling a step behind a market that moves faster every year.

Just the patterns that matter, flagged by a machine that never falls in love with a stock…never chases headlines…never clings to a loser hoping it’ll come back…never buys because everyone at the barbecue is talking about it…and never sells in a blind panic.

This is not a thought experiment.

This is ATLAS.

You already know AI is moving at breakneck speed.

Between them, the world’s biggest AI labs now ship a new model every few weeks. Anthropic alone has gone from roughly one release a quarter in 2025 to almost one a month in 2026.

But here’s the thing…

The way most people research stocks hasn’t changed in decades.

ATLAS changes that. It’s built to move at the speed of AI, not the speed of a 1990s broker’s desk.

The team behind it isn’t your standard line-up of suits and stock-pickers.

Its lead architect comes from the world of machine learning — and is at the bleeding edge of where AI and investing intersect. And he’s not working alone. In building ATLAS we’ve drawn on the expertise of the whole of Fat Tail Investment Research — ASX specialistscovering everything from technical analysis to mining, energy, biotech and tech, and the unique dynamics of our market.

Fat Tail takes its name from the extreme market events the mainstream insists ‘won’t happen’…until they do. Contrarian by design. Early by habit. Independent to the core.

So when AI arrived…we didn’t wait for the big banks to tell us what it was good for.

We put it to work…

ATLAS is what happens when a contrarian mindset meets the most powerful technology of our lifetimes.

For the past five months, this evolving tool has been deployed in the real market, processing hundreds of ASX stocks every week for a small group of early-access users.

Every scan. Every signal. Every hit and every miss.

All of it captured, analysed and fed back to our team, who have used it to sharpen how ATLAS reads the market.

And what a proving ground it’s been.

Since ATLAS went live in May, markets have been thrown around. The Strait of Hormuz is still choked, and Brent crude is back above US$100 a barrel. The RBA has hiked rates four times this year, to its highest rate since 2011. And in early October, the ASX 200 suffered its worst single-day fall in six months.

But underneath it all, money has rarely moved faster…

Exactly the kind of market ATLAS was designed to read.

Five months of live trading has taught ATLAS more than years of back-testing ever could. Now it’s earned its version number…

We're officially

releasing ATLAS 1.0

A sharper engine…

Faster to detect a change in momentum…

More decisive about when it’s time to get out…

And rebuilt around how its first users actually used it…

And as a Fat Tail reader, you’re invited to take it for its first test-drive.

Mark 4:15pm AEDT Monday, 26 October in your diary.

Over one hour, we’ll take you inside the mind of ATLAS 1.0.

You’ll see the entire ASX through its eyes: how it ingests data…ranks opportunity…and translates it into concrete, tradeable signals.

You’ll see how, again and again over the past five months, ATLAS picked up big shifts in the market days or even weeks before they made the news. Not by predicting the future, but by reading what the price was already saying.

Including the sector it sent to the bottom of its rankings six weeks before the RBA’s September rate hike hit the front pages…

And the group that topped its very first scan, then held #1 in 14 of its first 15 reports…

Remember the first time an AI model genuinely stunned you?

ATLAS is that feeling, pointed at the ASX.

You’ll be the first to see ATLAS 1.0’s new capabilities in action.

Including its redesigned dashboard…an upgraded risk-management system with traffic-light alerts…and how to type in almost any ASX small-cap and see in seconds how the AI rates it.

Then, at around 5pm, this stops being a demo…and becomes intel you can act on.

ATLAS 1.0 will name 10 specific stocks.

The 10 that came out on top in the scan we ran for the 1.0 release.

Each one a stock where trend, market-beating strength and momentum are all firing at once.

While the ASX has gone nowhere for months…

…these are the 10 stocks where buyers have been piling in anyway.

To be there, confirm your details in the box below. I’ll send your access link by email.

ATLAS 1.0

Why ATLAS matters now
(Think
2026 was chaos? Wait for '27…)

The old market — the one your playbook was built for — is gone.

For decades, Aussie stock investing had a rhythm.

The market moved in long waves.

When the tide came in — a mining boom, a tech run, a cheap-money rally — a sound company with a good story usually rose with it.

You did your homework, bought, and gave it time.

That rhythm is gone.

Look at 2026.

Money has raced from one corner of the market to another.

Often within weeks.

Copper surged on demand from AI data centres.

Gold miners went on a tear — at one point rising nearly twice as fast as gold itself, even as the broader market struggled.

Cash rotated into healthcare and consumer staples, sectors most investors weren’t even watching.

On the surface, the ASX looks like it’s gone nowhere.

Beneath that flatline, it’s churning.

Money surging into one sector, draining out of another. Certain stocks breaking out while the index barely moves.

A flat line on the chart hides dozens of moves, each one an opportunity for investors who can see it. Each moving at a pace the human brain was never built to track.

Take the Iran war.

It has whipsawed oil markets since March.

Ceasefires. Blockade threats. Refinery strikes. Each one sent oil spiking, then sliding again. By August, most investors had stopped paying attention to energy stocks.

ATLAS’s scores agreed: on 11 August it ranked energy dead last of all the sectors it tracks

Then the scan started to turn.

Within a fortnight, energy had climbed to #2.

On 3 September, ATLAS ranked it #1.

Two days later, US and Iranian forces traded strikes on oil tankers, the Strait of Hormuz flared, and the ASX sold off.

Anyone who uses AI knows that reading about it only gets you so far. It clicks when you watch it work.

So rather than describe what ATLAS did next, here’s ATLAS creator Charlie Ormond to show you, screen by screen…

ATLAS didn’t know the Strait would flare that week. Nobody did.

What it saw was money moving into oil and gas while most investors were still looking the other way.

And over the next fortnight, while the ASX 200 fell almost 4%, the oil and gas stocks ATLAS was rating rose 4.3%.

We’re not predicting the future.

We’re identifying where money and momentum are already flowing...

Earlier. Faster.
And with
Terminator-like efficiency…

The reality of markets right now is not direction.

It’s speed.

News breaks faster. Money reacts faster. Leadership changes hands quicker than ever before.

Which leaves you with a problem the old playbook was never built for.

Professional investors have a word for a market like this: dispersion.

When sectors stop moving together, the gap between winners and losers widens.

The market gets harder to read, but the reward for reading it gets bigger.

And 2027 could make that gap wider still.

Look at what’s been left behind this year. Lithium and uranium names sitting at 52-week lows. Iron ore at its cheapest in two years.

Meanwhile, money has piled into the AI trade overseas and our big banks at home — so heavily that CBA has been called the most expensive bank on the planet.

Markets rarely stay that lopsided for long.

If money starts rotating out of what’s crowded and into what’s been abandoned, those moves can come fast.

And if the shift is a sharp sell-off instead…getting out early will matter even more…

Nobody knows which way it breaks.

But either way, the edge goes to whoever sees the money move first.

Why it's named ATLAS

In Greek mythology, Atlas was a Titan.

One of the giant gods who came before Zeus. He’s best known for holding up the heavens on his shoulders.

But legend also credits him as a master astronomer. That’s why the mapmaker Mercator named his book of maps after him. And why we still call one an atlas today.

A fitting namesake for a system built to map market momentum.

Across sectors, sub-sectors and individual stocks.

Every rise. Every fall. Every shift in pressure beneath the surface.

  • Where most investors see chaos…ATLAS sees structure.
  • Where most investors react late…ATLAS identifies movement early.
  • Where most investors guess…ATLAS shows you the path.

Think of it as a living, breathing market map.

Because momentum isn’t random.

It leaves footprints.

And ATLAS is being built to follow them.

First, it was tested against more than a decade of historical market data — including a simulated run through the COVID crash of 2020.

Then, in May, it went into ‘beta’ mode with a small group of early-access users.

Since then, it has been through what AI labs call evals, short for evaluations.

Every signal was logged, and every ranking was checked against what the market actually did next, through one of the most volatile stretches small-caps have seen in years.

Charlie Ormond — who built machine-learning courses for Microsoft before ChatGPT existed — has used those five months of live results to sharpen the system and expand what it can do.

And to be clear: ATLAS doesn’t rewrite itself.

Every improvement is designed, tested and signed off by Charlie and his team. The machine handles the number-crunching. Humans set the rules it plays by.

It’s built here, for this market. Not a US model retrofitted for the ASX.

Now the upgrade is ready for general release.

We’ll show you what it has been showing its first users and how it reads a market with no obvious direction. Then we’ll name the 10 stocks at the very top of its leaderboard.

Bring a notepad, or set your phone to record. Because this isn’t just a theory session…

ATLAS 1.0

Getting in is half the
trade.
ATLAS tells you
when the party's over…

Most AI stock tools are built to do one thing: get you in.

Feed them data and out come the buys. Bullish, bullish, bullish.

But anyone who has lived through a real market knows that’s only half the job.

Maybe less than half.

Because how much money you keep comes down to one decision most investors get wrong: knowing when to step aside.

And in this market, that decision is coming at you faster than ever.

Rates are moving again. Australian bond yields have been pushing levels not seen since 2011.

Money is rotating from sector to sector within weeks, not years.

The sector carrying your portfolio in the lead-up to Christmas can be the one dragging it down by next February. And the crowd usually finds out last…when the headline finally lands.

This is exactly where a good AI earns its place.

ATLAS is continually scoring hundreds of ASX stocks across its three pillars: trend, relative strength and momentum.

It ranks all sectors and the sub-industries beneath them.

It has no favourite sector, no ego and no false hope.

It won’t tell you, ‘She’ll be right.’

It simply reads what prices are doing, across the whole market at once. A bird’s eye view.

It tells you where strength is building…and where it’s draining away.

And every stock it flags carries its own exit line.

One that rises as the stock rises, and stretches or tightens depending on how wildly the stock is trading. So routine noise doesn’t shake you out…but a genuine break in the trend doesn’t slip past you either.

Charlie will show you exactly how it works on the 26th.

But here’s what that looked like in practice this year…

On 18 August, ATLAS dropped the property sector to the bottom of its rankings. No sector fell further that month.

At the time, it hardly looked like a disaster.

Rates had just been held. The market put the odds of a September hike at roughly one in six. Plenty of investors were sitting tight, waiting for a rebound.

ATLAS wasn’t waiting…

Scan after scan, property stayed pinned at the foot of the table. For six weeks.

Then the news caught up.

A hot inflation number in late August. Hike odds climbing towards 90%. And on 29 September, the RBA lifted the cash rate to 4.60%.

That was 42 days after ATLAS’s downgrade.

Over that stretch, the property stocks ATLAS was tracking fell more than twice as hard as the ASX 200.

Twenty-five of the 29 finished lower.

So, to summarise…ATLAS saw the money draining out of property six weeks before the Reserve Bank made it official.

ATLAS saw the down-move

SIX WEEKS in advance

This is not a one-off.

This is an emerging pattern…

ATLAS had information technology ranked #1 in early August. By late August it had cut tech to 8th…when the ASX tech index was still barely 2% off its high.

Over the following weeks, that index fell more than 13%.

Same story.

The AI saw the momentum turning while most people were still enjoying the ride.

Now, let’s be straight with you about what this is and what it isn’t.

ATLAS is not a crystal ball.

It can’t predict RBA moves or read minds in Martin Place.

Not every stock or sector it downgrades keeps falling, and some bounce hard.

That’s precisely why Charlie is there to put each signal in context.

What ATLAS does do is something no human analyst can manage on their own. It watches hundreds of stocks and dozens of industry groups simultaneously and spots a shift while it’s still small.

While it’s still easy to dismiss.

Most investors wait for the news to confirm what the prices are already saying. By then, a big chunk of the move is done.

That’s the edge of ATLAS. Not prediction. Just…

EARLIER RECOGNITION

ATLAS gives you both halves of the trade:

The Top 10 shows you where momentum is building, the stocks the AI rates most highly right now.

And on Monday, 26 October, we’re not holding them back.

When we officially release ATLAS 1.0 at 4:15pm AEDT, Charlie and ATLAS will run you through a fresh Top 10 screening.

In many ways, ATLAS’s scanning capabilities are even more powerful. We’ll walk you through that on the 26th as well. Helping you get your hands around this market.

That’s where to look, and what to avoid.

A view that shows you where momentum is leaking out, so you can tighten up your portfolio, take some profits or simply avoid buying into weakness.

And a view of where green shoots are forming. So you can put your precious time into following the right stocks, and the surging sectors.

Something that would take the average punter hours of webinars…days of earnings reports…and weeks of macro commentary.

In a calm market, you might get away with reading the paper on the weekend.

But this is not a calm market.

It’s fast, it’s noisy and it punishes people who hang on too long.

In a market like this, knowing when to get out is every bit as valuable as knowing when to get in.

ATLAS was built to help you with both.

ATLAS 1.0

History is brutal to those

who sit and wait…

In every great technology shift, the real danger has never been the technology. It’s standing still while everything around you moves.

In 1975, a Kodak engineer built one of the world’s first digital cameras.

Kodak’s management shelved it to protect the film business.

In 2012, Kodak filed for bankruptcy.

In 2000, Netflix’s founders offered to sell their company to Blockbuster. Blockbuster passed. A decade later, Blockbuster was bankrupt.

And in our own industry?

For generations, share prices were set by traders shouting at each other on exchange floors. Plenty of them swore no machine could ever read a market like a human.

The ASX shut its trading floor decades ago.

Today, much of the trading on global markets is driven by algorithms.

Point is…

The people who came out ahead in each of these shifts weren’t geniuses. They simply showed up early, while everyone else stood on the sidelines waiting to see how it played out.

AI in markets is following the same path.

The big funds and their quant teams have used it for years. The only real question left is whether you have it working on your side.

Join us at 4:15pm AEDT.

Have a notepad.

And bring two lists:

Your stock watchlist, if you keep one.

And the stocks you own that matter most to you.

Here’s why.

As the demo progresses, here’s what Charlie will put in front of you:

  1. From 4:15pm | The curve behind the headlines. The one measure AI’s own builders watch above all others, and why it explains both the scary news and the opportunity hiding inside it.
  2. The first scan ATLAS ever ran. The sector it put at #1 on day one, and barely let go of for weeks. Plus three of its stocks that have gone on to hit all-time highs. Charlie says they’re worth writing down.
  3. Inside the dashboard. A guided tour of the real thing: sector heatmaps, sub-industry scores, and how the three pillars become one simple score out of 100.
  4. Two sectors that cracked before the news did. Property, six weeks ahead of the RBA. And tech, from #1 to last in under a month.
  5. The crash test. What ATLAS’s model did in a simulated replay of the 2020 COVID crash (hypothetical back-test results), and the self-adjusting exit system built to get you out when a trend breaks.

And right at the end, the ATLAS Top 10. A snapshot of our 10 highest-rated stocks from the ATLAS’s leaderboard.

Taken from the scan we ran for the 1.0 release, they’re the names where trend, strength and acceleration were all lining up, in a market where most stocks were going nowhere.

They’re not a shopping list.

But 10 names side by side tell you something a single tip never can: where money chose to go while everything else stood still. Which sectors keep showing up. Which are missing altogether.

And remember, it’s a snapshot. The market will keep moving after the 26th, and so will the rankings. Some of these names will strengthen. Others will fade. When they do, ATLAS will show it.

So keep your personal lists next to you.

One of your holdings might show up, or a stock you’ve been watching.

Either way, you’ll know where it stands.

Call it a second opinion on your portfolio, from something that has never fallen for a stock in its life.

Who ATLAS was built for

You don’t need years of trading experience. You don’t need to be a tech whiz. You’ll never need to understand moving-average slopes or rate-of-change formulas.

ATLAS does that work.

Just half-an-hour a week with it will give you great insights.

A glance at the rankings, a look at what’s gaining strength and what’s losing it, and the rest is your call.

If you can read a score out of 100 and follow a clear buy or sell instruction, you can use this tool.

ATLAS can be a powerful investing weapon if:

  • You’re actively engaged with your portfolio and open to new strategies
  • You’d rather use AI as a tool now than compete against it later
  • You’re tired of hot tips and conflicting opinions, and you want a clear, systematic read on the market
  • You understand that discipline, not conviction, is what protects your speculative capital

So here’s how it will go.

At 4:15pm AEDT on Monday, 26 October, Charlie will walk you through ATLAS 1.0, step by step.

You’ll see how the system thinks. You’ll see what it got right in its first months on the live market, and what it got wrong.

And then, right at the end, the screen will fill with 10 names.

Maybe you’ll recognise a few. Maybe one of them is already in your portfolio. Maybe none of them are, and that will tell you something too.

Either way, you’ll walk away knowing exactly what this AI sees in the market.

Register below to make sure you’re there when the list goes up.
